I am traveling to Morocco soon and am actually planning to move there as well. However, I have been reading stories about increasing terror threats in Morocco. Can anyone tell me if Morocco is still a safe place to travel. I am American and I just worry that people won't differentiate me from my government. I appologize if this question makes me sound a bit closed minded.
Thanks for your help! |

Morocco has a very soft line approach to Islam, so terrorism is minimal. Crime-wise, violent crime is practically unheard of - much more likely to be attacked in UK or USA. Women are safer there.
Luckily Morocco is basically malaria-free. There are a few areas near the border with Mauritania that can harbor malaria but it's an unlikely destination even for the hardiest of travelers. |

Are you saying that tourists do not go to Mauritania? I was thinking of maybe going down there in wintertime.
Would you please comment on this? Thanks, d. |
