Abdelwahab Doukkali in Fes Festival 2008

Thursday night, Abdelwahab Doukkali, a Fassi native and one of the greatest Moroccan musicians, appeared onstage at Bab Makina.  HRH Lalla Salma was guest of honor for this original production.The Sufi Night, presented publicly for the first time at the Fez Festival.  The Regragui Oriental Orchestra provided back-up music and a choir to the dynamic vocals of Abdelwahab Doukkali.  For those who have not seen this popular performer, it was a rare treat to attend this particular live performance of new material.  All seats were taken and an enthusiastic audience gave the performance their full attention.
