World Sacred Music Festival 2007

The 13th annual Festival of World Sacred Music will take place from the 1st to the 10th of June in Fez with this year's theme, "Essence of time, Spirit of place." Organized by the Spirit of Fez Foundation, this year's festival will host a panel of both Moroccan and foreign artists and celebrities of international renown.

As always, the program is rich in diversity and will take place in the usual sites around Fes medina and Fes Ville Nouvelle. Opening ceremonies will begin Friday night, June 1st with American diva, Barabara Hendricks, and the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble from Sweden. Starting off the rest of the week, Saturday afternoon brings performances by world-famous artists Parissa and the Dastan Ensemble of Iran, interpreting the Sufi poetry of Jalal Eddine Roumi.
